Introduction

The RPG IV Programming language has evolved since its introduction in 1995 at OS/400 V3R1. The pace of enhancement shows no sign of slowing down, an indication of the commitment IBM has for the language.

But are you able to keep up ? The recent enhancements at V7R1 and V7R2 may seem bewildering, but in truth RPG IV now provides programmers with a consistent syntax that is both powerful and easier to code.

This practical Workshop will enable experienced RPG IV programmers to update their knowledge and skills, ready to take full advantage of some of the latest language features for coding effective and maintainable programs.

NOTE: Due to time constraints, only those key highlights from recent enhancements will be discussed.
Additional information can be obtained from IBM announcements and technical publications.
